Before spending money on expensive products filled with harsh chemicals that’ll leave nasty scents in your home, consider using multipurpose and natural essential oils!
1. Make a natural all-purpose cleaner.
Did you know that Lavender Essential Oil smells fantastic and has antibacterial properties? It can also be used to make an all-purpose cleaner and disinfectant spray.
To do this, fill a spray bottle with warm water and add about ten drops of Guaranteed Irish ULTRAPURE Laboratories® Lavender Essential Oil. Shake the solution and spray it on surfaces within your home. You can also use this spray to freshen up clothing and linens, as well as an air freshener and room spray.
2. Keep bins smelling fresh and clean.
Bins often smell, especially during the warmer humid months. So it’s important to empty bins regularly and clean them using warm soapy water. However, this may not get rid of nasty smells.
To solve this, soak a couple of cotton balls in 5 drops of ULTRAPURE Laboratories® Tea Tree Essential Oil and drop them into your clean bin (under the bin bag). The Tea Tree Oil will naturalise the odour and help fight bacteria with its natural antibacterial properties.
3. Prevent mould and mildew.
Mould and mildew are commonly found on damp walls and windowsill in most homes, especially in bathrooms. Fortunately, there is a natural and affordable solution to clean and prevent this growth.
Combine a teaspoon of ULTRAPURE Laboratories® Tea Tree Essential Oil with 230 ml of water. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle and shake well until they are thoroughly mixed. Spray affected areas with the mixture and leave to rest before quickly wiping the dirt away. To prevent mould and mildew from forming, spray the solution in nearby areas.
4. Stubborn stain removal.
There is nothing worse than staining your favourite piece of clothing. Eucalyptus Essential Oil is a natural fix that helps lift stubborn fabric.
To do this, saturate the stain in ULTRAPURE Laboratories® Eucalyptus Essential Oil and leave to soak for 30 to 60 minutes. Then, give the stain a quick scrub before washing the item as usual.
5. Deodorise shoes naturally.
Shoes, especially runners or trainers worn during exercise, often produce unpleasant orders and can begin to stink up closets and bedrooms. Eucalyptus shoe deodorisers are an excellent way to naturally combat these smells as it helps to neutralise unpleasant odours from shoes.
Add 4-6 drops of ULTRAPURE Laboratories® Eucalyptus Essential Oil to blotting paper or old newspaper, stuff it into shoes, leave overnight and wake up to fresher, smelling shoes.
6. Remove stickers with ease.
Removing sticky and tacky streaks and stains can be a nightmare. Whether it be chewing gum stuck to the carpet or a child’s hair or adhesive stickers attached to walls, jars, mirrors or windows at home. Eucalyptus Essential Oil is a natural solvent that can break down bonds and grease.
To remove sticky substances, firstly, remove as much of the substance by hand as possible. Then use a cotton pad to soak the area in ULTRAPURE Laboratories® Eucalyptus Essential Oil. Finally, scrape or slide the tacky substance off. Top tip: Use a hairdryer’s heat to help remove labels and stickers.
The Guaranteed Irish ULTRAPURE Laboratories® range of essential oils is available in Pharmacies and Health Stores (in-store and online).
