The Benefits of Rose Hip Oil

Even Out Skin Tone

Hyperpigmentation is a common, generally harmless disorder in which areas of skin darken in colour compared to the surrounding skin. When there is an excess of melanin, the brown pigment that gives skin its colour develops deposits in the skin, causing dark patches.  Rose Hip Oil is rich in vitamin A. Vitamin A is made up of several nutritional compounds, including retinoids. Retinoids are known for their ability to reduce hyperpigmentation and other visible signs of ageing with regular use. Retinoids work by interfering with the skin’s pigment process, therefore treating dark spots.

 It helps boost Collegian Formation

Collagen is the building block of skin. It’s essential for skin elasticity and firmness. Your body naturally makes less collagen as you age. In the dermis (the middle layer of skin), collagen helps form a fibrous network of cells. This is where new cells can grow. This network also plays a role in replacing and restoring dead skin cells. With age, the body produces less collagen and the skin’s structural integrity declines; therefore, signs of ageing such as wrinkles and fine lines begin to form. This reduction of collagen production is particularly dramatic after menopause. Rose Hip Oil is rich in vitamins A and C, which are both necessary for the production of collagen. Rose Hip Oil helps to stimulates collagen production, which may increase skin elasticity and help tighten the skin.

Protecting the Skin

Rose Hip Oil is rich in vitamin C.  Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that helps prevent free radicals from damaging the skin’s surface. Free Radicals include any contaminants in the air such as pollution, UV rays from sun exposure and harsh chemicals in makeup products that damage the skin and crate early signs of ageing.

Repair the Skin

Rose Hip Oil has long been used as a remedy to heal wounds. It is composed of essential fatty acids and antioxidants, which are known to aid skin cell regeneration.   Rose Hip Oil is known to reduce on the appearance of scars and fine lines. A recent study found that individuals who used Rose Hip Oils twice daily after surgery on their incision scars saw a significant improvement in the colour and inflammation around the scar compared to those who didn’t use a topical treatment.

Brightens the Skin

Using Rose Hip Oil can help to brighten the skin and help to reduce dullness. This is because Rose Hip Oil is rich in Vitamin A and C.  Vitamin A encourages cell turnover while Vitamin C aids cell regeneration, boosting the skin radiance.

Moisturises and Hydrates the Skin

Rose Hip Oil adds moisture and locks in the skin’s hydration. Rose Hip Oil contains essential fatty acids. These essential fatty acids help keep cell walls strong, so they don’t lose water. This keeps the skin looking plump and supple. Rose Hip Oil is a nongreasy method of adding moisture and hydration, which is of particular importance to those with dry and itchy skin.
